Data Sources
HockEyes competition data comes from a mix of official sources and automated data gathering, not entered by hand.
Where the data comes from
Standings, results, rosters, and top scorers are gathered from a combination of official competition sources and other collection methods, then normalized into a common format. HockEyes stores a synced copy of this data to power fast dashboards and historical views.
Sync timing
Some competitions sync on a schedule; others are refreshed manually. "Last sync" on the dashboard overview shows when a competition's data was last updated.
Why numbers can look out of date
Because syncing happens on an interval rather than instantly, a very recent match or an upstream correction may take a little time to appear in HockEyes.
Not the official record
HockEyes is a coaching and analysis tool, not the official competition record. For disputes, official rulings, or the authoritative result of a match, always defer to the relevant federation or competition organizer.
